Discovery Season 3 Episode 6 - [Easter Eggs, Breakdown & Review]

What Did I Miss? – “Scavengers” – Easter Eggs, Breakdown & Review

Hello and Welcome to What Did I Miss where today I am going over the sixth episode of the third season of Discovery, titled “Scavengers” and looking for easter eggs, references and running men. This was a very interesting episode for me as it confirmed a couple of theories I had about where Saru and Burnham’s characters are headed while it also showed a lot of character growth from a few other characters, like Tilly (Mary Wiseman), Stamets (Anthony Rapp) and Adira (Blu del Barrio).

(CBS) Georgiou & Burnham

The main plot of the story was very strong as it worked out like a search and rescue mission to a dystopian planet that allowed for Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) to break out with Georgiou (Michelle Yeoh) on another new world. I thought the action was really well done, but again I really enjoyed a lot of the character development in the episode and by the end, most of our main characters are in a different place emotionally than they were at the beginning. I really like to see the budding friendship between Adira and Stamets and I thought it was very clever how they found a bond through their shared albeit fantastical trauma.

There were not as many callbacks to past “Trek” as there were in the first five episodes of the season, but I still found plenty of good ones after digging around for a bit. But all in all, I enjoyed the episode, and I wouldn’t be surprised if by the end of the season we see that the events here drive some of the main character motivations for the rest of the season.

Let me know in the comments what you thought of the episode and if you have any new theories about what is going on.
